Nas orações condicionais tipo 2, pode ser utilizada a forma contínua do "present conditional".

Funções
Essa construção é comum nas orações condicionais tipo 2. Ela expressa uma ação ou situação incompleta ou em progresso, a qual representa o resultado provável de uma condição irreal.
Exemplos
- I would be working in Italy if I spoke Italian. (mas eu não falo italiano, por isso, não trabalho na Itália.)
- She wouldn't be living with Jack if she lived with her parents. (mas ela mora com Jack, e não com seus pais.)
- You wouldn't be smiling if you knew the truth. (mas você está sorrindo, pois não sabe a verdade.)
O tempo verbal "present continuous conditional"
O "present continuous conditional" de qualquer verbo é composto por três elementos:
"would" + "be" + "present participle"
O "present participle" é formado através da inclusão da terminação "-ing" ao radical do verbo.
