The EF360 challenge
Apply to EF’s seriously hands-on global management trainee program

We’re looking for recent graduates who possess 360 degrees of talent and vision to be part of our highly selective management trainee program.

If you’re a recent graduate with 360 degrees of talent and vision, we want you to become part of our highly selective one-year management trainee program.

Ideal candidates will jump at the chance to:

  • Work for a President of an EF division for a year.
  • Whip out their passport for a meeting in Shanghai, Bangalore, London, or LA.
  • Trendspot for consumer insights in global markets.
  • Stay up late to mock up a prototype for our future mobile application.
  • Work in one of the world’s fastest-growing industries—education. The job will be highly demanding but very rewarding. If you are deterred by jetlag, getting totally hands-on, or working long hours, this program is not for you.

Who are we?

EF Education First is the world leader in international education, an industry that is currently worth $50 billion and growing by almost 30% each year. Our mission is to "break down barriers in language, culture and geography". So far we have helped millions of people learn a language, discover the world, or earn an academic degree.

Founded in 1965 by entrepreneur Bertil Hult, EF now operates more than 400 schools and offices in 55 countries and has 34,000 employees. A privately held company, EF has 16 divisions offering a range of programs within language schools, educational travel, academic degrees, and cultural exchange. As our business continues to catapult itself into all corners of the world, we are constantly looking for talented people to join us.

What would my EF360 year be like?

It’s as much a mission as it is a job. You’ll assist an EF President who will act as your mentor, your supervisor, and your friend. You could
be asked to produce a flash mob for a viral marketing campaign, analyze sales data, or be a production assistant on a video shoot. No assignment is too big or too small. You’ll be based in Zurich, Shanghai, London, Lucerne, or Boston, but you need to be prepared to travel.

What would my career path be like after the EF360 program?

Once you become truly 360 (to us, that means fully versed in EF’s entrepreneurial operating style), you will earn a position within the organization that best suits your talents and skills. Positions range from managing a team in Boston to business analyst in Zurich, and anything and anywhere in between.

How can you join our EF360 management trainee program?

To help us get an idea of how well you think “out of the box,” applicants need to complete our EF360 “out of the box” challenge: using the contents of this box and the contents in your head, you must write a mini-business plan in less than 500 words, explaining how you would use some or all of the items to build a business. It’s up to you to decide what business to build and how to build it.

The box contains:

  • 10.000 USD
  • Organic red apples
  • 100 pink nylon bodysuits
  • Roundtrip flight ticket to anywhere in the world
  • One iPad
  • One bicycle
  • Loud speakers
  • Night-vision goggles

Ideal candidates should be budding CEOs, preferably with a degree in business or engineering. Fluency in English and at least one other language is a must. Send your cover letter, résumé, and “out of the box” mini-business plan (500 words max) via email to 360@ef.com. Application deadline: 4 March 2013.
